NORTHERN WHITE RHINOS ON A WAY TO EXTINCT

The white rhino is the third largest African animal and weighs between 1,700 –
2,400kg, but it’s sad to say that the northern white rhino, which survived
almost 55million years, is almost extinct.
There are now only two northern white rhinoceros remaining in the world,
Najin & Fatu (both are female). Currently, both are living under strict protection
poachers in Kenya. The northern white rhino was abundant across Central
Africa but illegal hunting for its horn has already led to its extinction in the
world.
However, scientists working to save the northern white rhino from extinction
hope to implant embryos made from rhino’s egg cells and frozen sperm from
deceased males into alive mothers for a more abundant rhino species.

Our Expression

It’s unfortunate to see that one of the beautiful creatures created by nature is
going extinct because of some human beings. As we mentioned above, there
was a time when an abundant number of rhinos existed but because of illegal
hunting now it has come to an end. We hope that govt. should take strict
action against illegal hunting & we desire that scientists will succeed in saving
rhinos from complete extinction.
