As it is rightly said-“Ones actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more”.

Haritima regularly organizes seminars and webinars to provide education not from books, but through practical examples and real-life experiences. Sessions with eminent personalities and reputed organizations help students to gain an insight into various environmental issues.

To mention a few-

  • Talk by B.C. Sabata, ex-director of VigyanPrasar marked World Ozone Day’13 beside the competitions and quizzes.
  • Haritima has also invited eminent scientists and environmentalists from other colleges.

Mr. Rajender Singh, the water man of India, Prof. A. K. Bhatnagar, Dr. T.V. Venketeswaran, Dr. BC Sabata, Er. AnujSinha, Mr. PallavBagla, and Mr. P.C. Jain have been invited to the college to share their knowledge and expertise on various environmental issues. Besides these, many non-government organizations were also invited to talk on various pertinent issues.

Here are some of the newest sessions:

1. GLOBAL WARMING IN SOCIETIES OF CARBON AND CAPITALISM

With Dr. AnishVanaik, Associate Professor at Jindal Global University, on the topic- “Global warming in societies of Carbon and Capitalism”.

2. CLIMATE DISCUSSION

Around the turn of 2020, A Climate Discussion Webinar was organized with Sir Anand Sharma, Additional Director General of Meteorology, IMD. On thetheme: Assessing The Impact of Climate Change on Indian Climate and Adapting to Changing Patterns.

3. SIX SECTOR SOLUTION TO CLIMATE CHANGE

Talk was organized with DaljitKaur, Climate and Environment Advisor, Department of International Development (DFID) India on the theme: “Six Sector Solution to Climate change”. She not only highlighted the roadmap to six sector solutions but also mentioned the various policies and measures that the GOI is taking and can take for reducing global emissions.

4. WASTE MANAGEMENT

Webinar was organized in collaboration with EcochirpFoundation on “Waste Management” which was addressed by Harshad Gupta, Sustainability Expert at Ecochirp, experienced in the field of waste management.
