‘Environmental observances and world day campaigns are a great way to raise awareness for a cause’. We at Haritima grab every opportunity for creating awareness for a sustainable environment.
We have successfully organized many sessions, and activities like sapling plantation, movie screenings, discussions, debates, poem recitation, report making, and competitions like slogan writing, poster making, quiz, etc.
1. WORLD OZONE DAY
On the occasion of “World ozone Day’19” the following competitions were organized and were a great success.

- Online Photography Competition
- Power Point Presentations
2. CARICATURE CONTEST
Dolphins are called bio-indicators as their presence indicates the pollution level of water and the official status of river dolphins is “critically endangered” as per the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List.
So in accordance with “International Freshwater Dolphin Day’20”, Haritima organized an online caricature contest.
3. GREEN DIWALI
In this, a set of green activities were planned the main motto behind this was to get back to the age-old method of celebrating Diwali.
GreenRangoli: by using natural colors and using ingredients like Haldi, rice powder, colorful grains, flowers, petals, etc. which are completely bio-degradable and safe for the environment.
Green Decoration: beautifying our homes with these natural elements will also give a lesson to others about protecting the environment by celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali.
Green Gift: plants can be gifted on all occasions. They are a sign of respect and giving the recipient the responsibility of nurturing something.
4. GREEN VALENTINE
Haritima organized a new innovative competition for Nature lovers. In this participants planted a sapling with their valentine and singles also participated, making that plant their valentine.
5. VIRTUAL EARTH CONFERENCE 1.0
Topic: ‘Threats to Indian Biodiversity- Way Ahead’
On the occasion of environment day on 5 June 2020, we collaborate up with Green Brigade- the environment society of CVS, celebrating the day together.
6. CREATIVE CONTEST
In this participants submit memes, doodles, poetry, slogans on the following topics: pollution, global warming, biodiversity loss.
Such activities not only help to inculcate a spirit of environmentalism but also allow youth to express their creative abilities and they may even get to learn about their hidden skills through their participation.
7. GREEN QUIZ CONTEST
In the times when the students were getting bored with the same routine of online classes and need some refreshment! Haritima organized an online quiz contest on the theme ‘Environment’. In this students from all over India participated. The quiz ended in a commendable manner.
8. ONLINE PHOTO-SERIES COMPETITION
This was organized by The Nature Photography Club of Haritima-FRAMES which inspires to show colors of nature through photography.The theme of the series was- Hues of Nature. The winner was awardeda cash prize and certificate.
